Last updated: May 9, 2026. These Terms of Service govern your use of FanTix, including school account registration, event creation, ticket sales, payment processing, ticket delivery, and admission scanning. By using FanTix, you agree to these terms.
About FanTix
FanTix provides web-based software that allows schools and similar organizations to create event pages, sell tickets online, collect payments, deliver digital QR-code tickets, manage orders, and scan admissions at the door.
FanTix is intended for use by schools, school administrators, authorized school staff, and the families and community members who purchase tickets to school events.
School accounts
Schools must register for a FanTix account and receive approval before creating events or accepting payments. The person completing registration represents that they are authorized to act on behalf of the school or organization.
Schools are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure, managing which staff members have access, and ensuring that all use of FanTix under their account complies with these terms. FanTix is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from a school's failure to protect its credentials.
FanTix may decline, suspend, or terminate a school account at its discretion, including for violations of these terms, misuse of the platform, or inactivity.
Events and ticket sales
Schools are responsible for the accuracy of all event information they publish, including event name, date, time, location, ticket types, prices, availability, and any policies communicated to buyers.
Schools are responsible for deciding when to publish or unpublish events, setting and communicating their refund policies, and honoring commitments made to ticket buyers.
FanTix provides the tools to create and manage events but does not independently verify event details or guarantee that events will occur as described.
Payments and fees
FanTix uses Stripe to process payments. By using FanTix, schools agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and related Stripe terms. Schools must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before accepting paid ticket sales.
FanTix charges a platform fee on each transaction. This fee, along with applicable Stripe processing fees, is added to the ticket price and paid by the buyer at checkout. The fees displayed at checkout are the complete buyer cost — no additional charges are applied after payment.
Ticket revenue, net of platform and processing fees, is deposited directly into the school's connected Stripe account according to Stripe's standard payout schedule. FanTix does not hold school funds.
FanTix reserves the right to adjust its platform fee structure with reasonable advance notice to schools.
Refunds and cancellations
Schools are responsible for establishing and communicating their refund policies to buyers before purchase. FanTix provides tools for schools to issue full refunds on individual orders.
When a school issues a refund through FanTix, the ticket price is returned to the buyer's original payment method. Platform and processing fees may not be recoverable depending on the timing and method of the refund.
If a school cancels an event, it is the school's responsibility to notify affected buyers and process appropriate refunds. FanTix may provide tools to assist with bulk notifications and refunds but is not itself responsible for refund obligations arising from event cancellations.
Buyer purchases
Buyers who purchase tickets through FanTix event pages are purchasing from the school or organization hosting the event, not from FanTix. FanTix facilitates the transaction and ticket delivery but is not the seller of record.
Buyers are responsible for reviewing event details and any applicable refund policies before completing a purchase. All sales are subject to the school's stated policies.
FanTix delivers digital QR-code tickets to the buyer's provided email address. Buyers are responsible for providing a valid email address at checkout and for retaining access to their tickets.
Acceptable use
You may not use FanTix to create fraudulent events, collect payments for events that are not intended to occur, misrepresent ticket availability or pricing, or deceive buyers in any way.
You may not use FanTix to circumvent or manipulate payment processing, attempt unauthorized access to other accounts, introduce malicious code or automated abuse, or use the platform in a way that interferes with its operation or other users.
Schools may not use FanTix for events or purposes that violate applicable laws, regulations, or school policies.
Intellectual property
FanTix and its underlying software, design, trademarks, and content are owned by FanTix and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use FanTix trademarks or branding.
Schools retain ownership of the event content, images, and information they submit to FanTix. By submitting content, schools grant FanTix a limited license to display and use that content as necessary to operate the platform and deliver the service.
Disclaimers
FanTix is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FanTix does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities.
FanTix is not responsible for the conduct of schools, event organizers, or buyers, for the accuracy of event information published by schools, or for the outcome of any event.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FanTix's total liability to any party for any claim arising from these terms or the use of FanTix is limited to the fees paid to FanTix by that party in the three months preceding the claim.
FanTix is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnification
Schools agree to indemnify and hold FanTix harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from their use of FanTix, their events, their content, their refund or cancellation decisions, or their violation of these terms.
Termination
Either party may terminate a school's use of FanTix at any time. Schools may close their account by contacting FanTix. FanTix may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, inactivity, or at its discretion with reasonable notice where practical.
On termination, schools remain responsible for any outstanding refund obligations to buyers. FanTix may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate operational purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
FanTix may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Schools will be notified of material changes. Continued use of FanTix after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of FanTix will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio. By using FanTix, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts regardless of where you are located.
